I would have no problem with doing this now. We certainly need to do this
before the next release freeze. It's hard enought keeping stable and
unstable isolated as it is. In fact we have held onto rex much longer than
we held onto ??? (1.1.x). Don't we "normaly" remove old stable when frozen
moves to become stable?
