Debian and the Single UNIX Spec

As you probably already know, the Single UNIX Specification is now
available on the web (http://www.rdg.opengroup.org/unix/online.html
- to view it, you need to register your name and e-mail address,
using the form on this URL).

How about making conformance to this standard (as much as reasonably
possible) one of the goals for Debian 2.0? The spec is available
online, so we can have a large number of people verifying Debian
for conformance, and submitting bug reports for any deviations from
the standard.

All that is needed is a public announcement, that the Debian project
is committed to make the system conform to the standard as closely
as possible. What do the developers think about it?

Thanks,

Marek
