I just did a `grep LewisMoss debian-devel*' through my mail archive and
discovered a mail which he (James LewisMoss) sent on 08 May 1997 20:16:11
-0600. He used the address

Did you also try to reach him there? There is also a www address in the
signature:

Perhaps his home page can give more info (I didn't have a look, yet).
