I'll note that the postinst for "screen" had a bug which tossed the
data for running screens; this *was* fixed, and I think it's clear
that other packages with similar bugs should also be fixed, when
possible, and when not, should warn "I'm going to kill your monkey
now, or would you rather I exit with an error so you can try again
later?"
