gimp bug (was Re: .bash_profile, the empty /etc/skel, and the first user)

This is a bug against the gimp.  It is silly for it to fail if there
is no .gimprc.  Has this been reported yet (I'm too tired to check -
maybe tomorrow when I see my post).
