Just a hint: you can strip the modules before installing them. That
doesn't matter for loading them (if you use --strip-debug)  but it
helps to keep the size down. It's not much but:

-rw-r--r--   1 root     root         2900 Oct 23 22:13 ip_masq_ftp.o
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root         3012 Oct 23 22:13 ip_masq_ftp.o.ORIG

So strip --strip-debug
