Dear Ian,

I think I should explain something. I tried to install psnfss-*.deb
from the unstable directory but this failed. I then looked at the
stable directory which had a psnfss-*.deb with the same version number
and the same file size. But cmp tells me these files differ.

I tried to dpkg -i unstable/binary/tex/psnfss*.deb, and I tried dpkg
-i stable/binary/tex/psnfss*.deb. The former failed while the latter
succeeded. If you believe in the correctness of the file in stable,
you could just copy that one over to unstable and everything will be
fine. I think. Attribute the problem to bit rod or cosmic rays or
something.

I would very well understand, though, if you insisted on getting an
MD5 checksum from the maintainer of that package first. Sadly, I'm
only a (very satisfied!) user, and giving you the MD5 checksum of the
psnfss*.deb I downloaded from the stable directory in ftp.debian.org
wouldn't make much sense...

regards,
kai
