Bug#2128: problems with dselect ftp installation method

I didn't get any response from the author so I'll post my report here.

1. The ftp install method does not clean up after itself.  It leaves
   all the *.deb files in /var.

2. I got the following error when trying to use a local debian mirror:

     ...
     ls -lR listing
     200 PORT command successful
     425 Can't build data connection:  Cannot assign requested address.

     ...

     Didn't get directory listing
     update available script returned error exit status 1.
