You are right :(

I also read a bit about the upstream author: he abandoned the project
(https://github.com/OpenDiablo2/OpenDiablo2) and is now trying to rewrite it in
other programming languages. Users also complain that he suddenly shut down the
Discord server for no reason. His behavior seems unpredictable.

So yes, unfortunately, there is no good, working engine for Diablo 2.

I also noticed that play.it doesn't support Diablo 2 :( Or am I wrong?
