It has been sort of answered already, but maybe you didn't notice, so here's an explicit answer: Adding a .pc-file to a package provides no advantages for the package itself (other than being a better package). Its purpose is not to help the package build, but to help other packages that use the package to build. So if it's not in a binary package, it's useless. Thanks, Bas
