What I would love to see is a tutorial along the lines of "so, you have
an existing package [with some history] and want to use
git-buildpackage for it".

Starting with old debs (i.e. snapshot.d.n) and arriving at a situation
where I can just git-buildpackage is something I have been trying to
do for ages. I followed the various tutorials in the Debian world, but
they all either used weird layout, weird build-chain or were a
brain-dump from git experts for git experts. A concise step-by-step
howto is the only thing which keeps me from experimenting with
git more than I did, already.
