Dear fellow developers! We are moving people.debian.org to a new system. The system that currently hosts people.debian.org, ravel, is roughly 9 years old and is starting to show its age. The replacement system, paradis [1], has been set up and we've started copying your home directories from ravel. The plan is to execute a final sync of home directories on 2014-JUL-26 starting at 0800Z. We will disable all cronjobs on ravel immediately before the sync and copy your crontab files to paradis. We will not install them however; please re-enable your crontab yourself once you have verified it is still useful, needed, and works. The host paradis.debian.org will stay locked until that date. We will send another mail once the final sync has finished on July 26th. After the final sync, we plan to keep ravel.debian.org accessible for two weeks, just in case. Obviously, new files created or modified after that date will not be transferred to paradis before shutdown. Furthermore, we will change the people.debian.org web-service such that only HTTPS connections will be supported (unencrypted requests will be redirected). The two other services on ravel, ssh.upload.debian.org and the ssh server listening on port 443, will move as well. The details are still being fleshed out, however. The ssh upload service will probably move to coccia, and the ssh service might move to an additional IP address (and hostname) on paradis.
