This was, honestly, pretty much exactly what I was trying to avoid. I
*want* to have the i18n stuff in the same package, so that there is some
remote chance of it staying up to date and syncronized. This is stuff that
we're expecting *absolutely new* users to be able to use, without much
effort, *before* they have a clue (the whole idea of the package being to
impart some of the distilled clue of the project as a whole).

Anyone wanting to volunteer to translate stuff should feel free to contact
me directly; failing that, I'll probably just ask around the DDTP for
volunteers, when I need them. The whole reason for asking was to find some
way that the could all be released together, in one nice, neat package (and
yes, that might mean gettext-enabling fortune, or somesuch, as others have
suggested).

At the *very* worst (say, I wait a week or two, and can't find anyone to do
a translation), I can either hunt outside Debian, or I can mark the hint
as not being properly translated (and provide a current english version,
or somesuch, as being better-than-nothing). Hints also don't change very
often, really, after the first pass or two.
