My usb floppy drive works fine as a generic usb disk, if you load the
corresponding usb modules (usb-storage) they should be assigned scsi
devices, you can mount like a regular floppy drive.
The same thing works for some digital cameras i've been told.

Sorry, i don't have that usb floppy any more, that was on my previous
notebook, so i can't give you exact details.
