Hi Matthew, why u don't try to put bootsplash sysv-rc-bootsplash and bootsplash-theme-debian-xxx packages on Experimental? You should compile kernel-image-bootsplash-2.6.2-1-XXX kernels and kernel-image-bootsplash-2.6-xxx meta-package make it depending on bootsplash sysv-rc-bootsplash (as raccomended?) and a bootsplash-theme-debian-xxx and try to put all into Experimental.
