This looks sensible to me.

I don't think we should prejudge this at this stage.  We don't need a
decision on this now.  We should have a proper conversation about how
to avoid the duplicated information, while preserving existing
functionality, after wheezy is released.  Then we can think about it
without worrying about release issues.
