Re: chinese characters in windows xp to debian



My file manager displays differently from my terminal. It doesn't show
most of the chinese characters. The solution to the problem is to set
G_FILENAME_ENCODING to UTF-8. I'm not even sure why it isn't set by
default. But it works.

I've also digged around that some filesystem need the -o option in
/etc/fstab. But I'm using XFS, so it's not necessary to enable that.
If in doubt, check with man pages on your filesystem whether it has
the -o option.
