You should never try to download such big file with any browser ;-)
Also you need a download client supporting big files (over 2G) like the latest
version of wget for example. You can use also rsync (Unix only) to fetch
them. Here are the sizes:

This could not be a showstopper for you. You can assemble these DVD iso using
jigdo. Just download its small bootstrap files for " debian stable release"
from http://www.debian.org/CD/jigdo-cd/#which
and everything else from your local mirrors ftp.de.debian.org or
ftp2.de.debian.org and so on. Start reading at:
http://www.debian.org/CD/jigdo-cd/
