Re: Are PIK mirrors obsolete?

The important thing first: jigdo-mirror needs more testers! When 3.0r0
is released, cdimage will be so overloaded that any rsync-based
mirroring will be very slow, so set up jigdo-mirror instead!

I've been wondering whether the info on the PIK should be removed
altogether from the web pages - will .list files still be generated
for 3.0 and later releases?

jigdo-mirror does not even strictly need a local Debian mirror,
although it's strongly recommended.

FWIW, I fixed a few issues lately. I suspect it still won't work for
you, but if you have the time you can try it out again and tell me
where it fails now.

What "usability issues"? :) I'm making slow progress with the jigdo
GUI app if that's what you mean...

jigdo-mirror has been part of the last two jigdo releases. I always
had the feeling that nobody bothers to read my release announcements.
;-P

Yes, so far yours was the only feedback.

Are you thinking of any particular "issues"?

Cheers,
