RE: slink_cd v 1.02 - i386 - (PATCH INCLUDED) install notes

I made a set of disks with 1.02+patches, and installed
a several new systems in the last few days.

OBSERVATIONS:

In all but one case, I installed everything from the
slink#1 alone, as they were simple file/mail/http servers.

The only exception was my friend "sendmail" who did not make
the cut to the first disk. (just my personal preference)

I used the preselected options, to set up everything, and
all went well. At least the i386 disks are almost ready
for prime time!

EXCEPTIONS:

X .. Humm. when selecting xbase, it forgets things like
gpm, fonts, a window manager.... but that is another story.

IMAGE CREATION:

Using 1.02+patches I built:

Although m68k and Alpha pass the "sanity" test, I have no
access to machines to test them with.

SLINK_CD 1.0.2+ PATCHES

What exactly might the purpose of "single_disk" be?
As I could not get it to work in any of the many
ways I tried...might this be a "rool you own" distribution?

It seems that it is looking for a "slink1" file that is not there.
Or is this a instance of "this page intentionally left blank";-)

ANY-HOOW......At least for i386 THINGS BE GOOD !!!

You do good work...your work do be good...
