Debian GNU/kFreeBSD 8 installation

What is the recommended way to install Debian GNU/kFreeBSD 8? The only media I have been able to find for 8 is the netboot image (mini.iso), which I really don't care to pursue.

Is GNU/kFreeBSD 8 stable enough to be a usable system? If so, what is recommended way to install it? Are there any official boot images, or should I try and install 7 and upgrade to 8 that way?
