Well, that's a good idea. Debian has talked about it (using bzip2
instead of gzip), but there's concern that this will make things slower
on older/slower machines. I hear it chews a lot of memory too, both
for compression and decompression. We support m68k even, plus old
386s and so forth, which I suspect isn't going to run bzip2 too quickly.
Still, our ports list doesn't have the same number of old and slow
platforms NetBSD's does, like vax :-)
