Oh wait, I think I might know where the confusion is. There is
a push to get the packages "zip"d with bzip(1) instead of gzip(1)
because usually there is a reduction in the overall size of the
tarballs when the former is used. The only problem is that the
decompression seems somewhat slower with bzip(1) than gzip(1). :/
