I am concerned with low memory installations. I suggest that under low memory conditions eatmydata-udeb should be optional. Do you have any data that would help a low memory installer decide whether to use it or not?
libeatmydata is so small that enabling it does not have any measurable effect to memory consumption. The library is 13 KB in size on disk and adds maybe +8KB (two pages) of overall RAM usage (it's a shared library).
P.S. please answer me directly, I'm not subscribed to the list.
