Contenders so far:
 * "insert another medium", "insert more media", and "insert another
item of media" all run the risk of annoying readers because they're
   unidiomatic or "wrong" or clumsy.
 * "insert another installation device" works for thumbdrives, but
okay, it's a slight stretch for a CD.
 * "insert another installation source" might also be usable some of
the time, though "source" is already a rather overloaded technical
term ("download the source from the configured source...")
 * "installation image" works well some of the time, but it's a poor
fit for cases like "could not read data from the CD."
 * "insert an installation disk" has two problems: the annoying but
minor one that the standard spelling for optical media is "disc",
and the potentially more important one that it isn't obvious that
it's intended to include things like thumbdrives.

Other options not yet considered include "data storage system",
"installation vector", some combo like "installation disk/device", or
"thingy".

Then again, how about if we say "Debian InstallDisk" as if it's a
brand-name? Nobody expects those to make sense! (But then I suspect
we'd need to spend a week bikeshedding the camelcase...)
