Bug#693485: Re[2]: Bug#693485: keyboard-configuration: XKBLAYOUT, XKBOPTIONS values manually set in /etc/default/keyboard lost on upgrade

I have no explanation of this change and I am unable to reproduce it. 
Is there something particular about this machine and its configuration?

For better or worse, this is indeed the current behavior for the 
non-Latin layouts.
