Should we really stick with console-setup?
OK, this is probably more an "enough" mail than anything else so
please excuse the tone.
Should we really stick with the goal of replacing console-data by
console-setup?
Many reports seem to come in, that exhibit issues with console-setup
on the installed system (most of the time reporting that the installed
system has no changed keymap) and, as of now, I haven't much feedback
or attempts to investigate such issues (except mine from time to
time...or Samuel...from time to time).
So, I really wonder if we shouldn't go *back* to the setup we use in
lenny. That would be a major step back but at least it works (or
should.....it's not guaranteed that everything is perfect now that
X.org is more closely related to c-s).
All this stuff *must* become a priority, probably before all other
shiny features....that 0.1% of the real world is using.
Remaining D-I team members, please think abou tthis....
