So it is in levels 2 to 5, as defined in http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/doc/i18n Level 2 being packages that have strings that are displayed in any kind of installs: - iso-codes (used in localechooser) - popcon (question always asked) - console-data (keymap names) - tasksel Level 3 are packages that ask questions in default "desktop" installs at debconf priority high: - worg - exim4 - menu (this is an abuse-->it doesn't ask questions but its strings are judged "important"....which is indeed less and less true Level 4 are packages that ask questions during other kind of installs at debconf priority high: - samba So, with these definitions, mdadm qualifies for level 4.
