The current version (available in daily builds) now just do that
automatically (after asking you to insert a pendrive). :)

This is not supported currently, but an issue tracked as #451535.  This
will not be fixed for Lenny though.

As you manage to get a working system beyond the problem your described,
and that all issues are already known, do you mind if I close this
