There are only 3 simple 3 to actually translate and there is still a 
margin of 9 characters (and even more as the limit of 55 is not as hard 
as you make it out to be).
If need be the "from " can be dropped.

The services _are_ specifically Debian. Ubuntu does not use these 
generators at all.

So what? There are not any other services, are there? And those can be 
added when needed. The number matches the number of choices, which is 
also hardcoded.
