I suspect that you got an error message before that saying that kernel 
modules could not be found. This is because we've been switching from a 
2.6.18 to a 2.6.20 kernel in the installer over the past week.

Thank you for providing the syslog, but because of the above it is not 
really useful.

I'm leaving your report open for future reference, but tagged as 
unreproducible.
