The install process of Etch is much better than that of Sarge.

I have two things to report though:

1) There should be an offline installation mode for people who
do not want to use the network to download packages. I was prompted
whether I wanted to use a Debian mirror to download packages from, and
I answered no. Hence I was able to skip the addition of a Debian
mirror to sources.list. However I could not make the installer skip the
downloading of packages from Debian's security mirror. There should
be a way to skip the downloading of packages from the security mirror.
The user should be asked whether the use of the Internet connection
is wanted.

2) I downloaded the first two CDs of the installation set. However,
I was not asked whether I wanted to install anything from another cd.
In Sarge the user was prompted whether an additional cd should be
scanned or not. It looks like this functionality was removed from
