Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot: [O]
Detect network card: [E]
the dmfe module was loaded which broke networking completely,
even tho the tulip module was later loaded too. unloading dmfe
and loading tulip didn't help either. Blacklisting dmfe helped.
Configure network: [O]
Detect CD: [ ]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]
Partition hard drives: [O] no raid1 support? :(
Install base system: [O]
Clock/timezone setup: [O]
User/password setup: [O]
Install tasks: [O]
Install boot loader: [O]
Installed kernel boots: [E]
The installed kernel (2.6.18-3) didn't boot. 2.6.18-4 from unstable
	did.
Overall install: [O] (or E, depending on how you look at things :)

Comments/Problems:

The installer itself worked nicely, but the two kernel issues - combined
with me not being familiar with sparc at all - made it a bit of a pain.

The network interface selector should show the mac address or at least a
link active/not active, but that's already reported as #411367.

The sparc installer appears to lack raid1 setup capabilities, which I
did miss.

The default curses interface is not nice to use over a 9600 serial, next
time I need to try with a different frontend.

Cheers,
Peter

No, it does have full RAID capabilities on sparc. See the installation
guide for details.
Note that the installer does not allow you to create a RAID partition
starting at sector 0 as that will destroy a SUN partition table.

The better option is to use the network-console component which allows you
to do most of the installation over ssh from another system. See the
installation guide for details.

All in all this was a successful install. Therefore closing your report.
Thanks for submitting it.

Cheers,
