Package: installation-reports

Boot method: netinst-CD
Image version: debian-31r3-i386-netinst.iso
Date: 23 Oct 06
boot image: expert26

Machine: Dell Dimension 3100
Processor: Celeron 3 GHz
Memory: 512 MB
Partitions: none

Output of lspci and lspci -n: unknown

Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot worked: [E]
Configure network HW: [ ]
Config network: [ ]
Detect CD: [ ]
Load installer modules: [ ]
Detect hard drives: [ ]

Mount partitions: [ ]
Install base system: [ ]
Install boot loader: [ ]
Reboot: [ ]

Comments/Problems: USB keyboard is non-functional, so installation is impossible. Boot image 'expert' works. But 'expert' does not find the SATA harddisk. Fedora Core 5 has none of these problems with kernel 2.6. I guess the module ata_piix is not loaded by expert and the USB modules not by expoert26.
