I figured out what that issue was. Turned out the kernel I was using
actually had an embedded initrd in it with the sarge installer on it.
So I thought I was running the etch installer that came with the CD image,
but I was actually running the sarge installer from the initrd that had
been embedded with my kernel, and that installer got confused when it
actually mounted the etch CDROM and tried to start installing packages
from there.

In other words, it was all my fault. Now I'm trying to figure out how to
convince gxemul to start a debian kernel with the debian initrd...

Thanks,
