/dev/vgroot/root on / (reiserfs,64MB)
/dev/vgroot/usr on /usr (reiserfs,256MB)
/dev/vgroot/var on /var (reiserfs,256MB)
/dev/vgroot/var/log on /var/log (reiserfs,64MB)

Output of lspci:
Cannot cut and paste ... !

Failed to create initrd image.

[Problem in with root on LVM]

There have been successful reports installing Sarge and Etch 
onto LVM-root since, so I suspect the fix for this was included
in the Sarge release version. Thank you for reporting this bug.
