you forward this installation report some time ago. I think all
issues have been addressed since or at least filed as separate
bugs. Hence closing this report. Thanks for sending it.

The default is now "en_US.UTF-8".

I think this has been solved: choose-mirror now shows an error
dialog in case accessing the mirror failed.
