Hello Sven Yes, I know that the qla23xx need a firmware but the megaraid no, and for install my debian I need only the megaraid module. I extract the megaraid.ko and via a busybox I download this file with wget. but the installer continue to say me no disks :-( (I see in the menu lists the megaraid choice) I'm ready to compile my own kernel for the qla but if I cannot acces to the system disk at the boot process .... I'm completely despite because I try to install the debian distrib from april each time that I can shutdown the system, and each time another disks drivers problem apear. Thanks for your help Guy Sven Luther a écrit : On Thu, Aug 17, 2006 at 05:11:23PM +0200, De Leeuw Guy wrote:The megaraid.ko are available under the mckinley and itanium kernel-image GuyWell, : $ grep MEGA arch/* arch/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_SAS=m $ grep MEGA arch/i386/* arch/i386/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_NEWGEN=y arch/i386/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_MM=m arch/i386/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_MAILBOX=m arch/i386/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_LEGACY=m $ grep MEGA arch/ia64/* arch/ia64/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_NEWGEN=y arch/ia64/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_MM=m arch/ia64/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_MAILBOX=m arch/ia64/config:CONFIG_MEGARAID_LEGACY=m You seem to be right, but look at : http://doolittle.icarus.com/~larry/fwinventory/2.6.17.html and at least the ql ones are non-free and will probably be removed in the near future, or at least for the etch release. The megaraid ones appear to be free though. Friendly, Sven Luther |
