I was talking about _installed_ size which is 276 KB for i386.
Dependencies that are pulled in additionally are ppp-modules (152 KB) and 
serial-modules (60 KB).

ppp-udeb _is_ included on all CD images, just not _loaded_ by default. The 
user can load and use it when installing at medium priority.
