Hi, > has anyone > yet created official debs /udebs for gtk2.7+directfb? I don't think anybody has done it yet; in the last few months I pinged the developers of gtk and directfb to see if they could tag the libraries so that d-i could test the graphical installer using something more recent. The good news is that gtk 2.7.0 and 2.7.1 are out, and a few days ago Mike Emmel announced a new patch for compiling directfb and cairodfb against gtk 2.7.0 (not 2.7.1). Since I also "played" recompiling those libs, I tried to produce precompiled binaries asap, so that Attilio Fiandrotti, who's working on the gtk fe of the installer, could finally switch from X to directfb for his tests. I did some tests with the new libs I compiled and gtk-demo seems to work; I haven't seen the installer running yet, so I'm not sure these libs are ready to be officially packaged. > > I propose obsoleting gtk2.0+directfb and instead packaging > gtk+directfb . (As the only user of such a package appears to be d-i, > there is little point in producing multiple versions for different > versions of gtk+. > That version *is* obsolete and could not be used to help developing the gtk fe; as I sayd before I'm not sure the new libs are ready to be packaged. ciao, Davide
