Comments/Problems:
I decided to install Debian and netinst I found the most comfortable way to fulfilling this task. During normal installation
(just pressing Enter after initial screen with Debian logo) the installer stops at 'ide-detect' LKM (Loadable Kernel Module).
Then I've tried many times to install in expert mode. Many configurations of modprobe with 'ide-detect' and other modules
were examined but without a satisfying result. No hard drives were detected. It is quite surprising as I tried Knoppix,
ver. 3.7 which is based on Debian. With Knoppix hard drives are detected. The comparison between LKMs in Knoppix and LKMs in
Debian netinst do not gave me enough info to solve the problem. I am newbie to Linux and need someone's help with this hardware problem.
Best regards,
