great to hear about the d-i development. :)
 
the ubuntu bugs i was referring to are #489 and to a lesser extent #2341.

so i reassign to initrd-tools that the fix wont get lost for the latter
initramfs-tools and to acpid, which is providing the much too late
/etc/rc2.d/S20acpid startup link aka "update-rc.d acpid defaults"
