Fair enough, I am sure there are reasons...

I am still unsure why it's not possible to *add* a single task. It
should not affect the stability of the install as a whole, and
existing automatic installs are based on a non-final product, so
there.

Well, the argument was meant to be some sort of hyberbole; I did not
actually want this to be an argument.
