Unfortunately, I'm going to be away until Sunday (or possibly Saturday
evening - I'm not quite sure yet). If you can wait until I get back,
I'll gladly take care of the merge. If not, then the necessary
information I have is below.

I believe that all the necessary changes for d-i (autopartkit, partconf,
and partman) are in /people/cjwatson/new-libparted/ in d-i svn. These
are (and I suggest merging the changesets individually):

  Build with new libparted ABI.
  Update for libparted API changes: get sectors, cylinders, and heads from
  PedDevice->bios_geom rather than PedDevice.

  Explicitly exclude read-only devices from the output of parted_devices. As
  of parted 1.6.19, parted doesn't do this for us.

In addition, bug #284081 has a patch for python-parted. Given the recent
maintenance history of this package and the fact that the bug was filed
nearly two months ago without maintainer comment, I suggest an immediate
NMU. I'm assuming this can wait until I get back, so I'm happy to make
the NMU myself.

I'm afraid that I can't help with libparted-swig-perl or qtparted, but
perhaps the changes I made to python-parted will serve as a useful
