Package: debian-installer
Severity: wishlist

It would be very cool if some of the debian-installer components were
split out into separate packages, allowing their use in other custom
installers (such as fai).

Some components which stand out as being generally useful are hw-detect,
netcfg, partman, autopartkit, base-installer, bootloader-installer.

This new debian-installer such a good job of automatically doing the
right thing, I would like to see the same functionality available for
integration into 100% automatic installers.

They are, each of them is built into a seperate package. They are
located in the debian-installer section of the archive.
