kernel panic after 1st reboot

Appologies for this less than complete report.

About 3 weeks ago, I downloaded the snapshot 100MB cd image for
installation on an asus M68R laptop.

When the first reboot came along, I got a kernel panic/tried to kill
init.

I changed the following on my 2nd installation attempt:

1. I told it to install 2.6 kernel as default (it was going to install
2.4???)

2. I told it to use a 100MB swap partition (initially, I said I wanted
no swap as my memory was 512MB).

After these changes the install went fine. Appologies for no better
report, but I needed it to work without mucking around.

Fantastic job with the installer BTW, vast improvement compared to my
last install (Bo).

Thanks, Mark.
