Root Device: <IDE? SCSI? Name of device?>

table, with notes on which partitions are mounted where.>
Output of lspci and lspci -n:

Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot worked: [o]
Configure network HW: [o]
Config network: [o]
Detect CD: [o]
Load installer modules: [o]

Partition hard drives: [o]
Create file systems: [o]
Mount partitions: [o]
Install base system: [o]
Install boot loader: [o]
Reboot: [o]

Comments/Problems:

1) Installer shoud tell user that there are many options to install from the
beginning and not say "for help press F1" and hide a lot of important
possibilities in some F1 options that have to be entered manually at
"boot:"!

In this way many good options get lost.

2) The installer doesn´t accept the same password for root and user - that´s
OK, but
when done so, the installer just throws the installation process back two
steps without any comment!

3) the configuration of apt only works once! Going back and add sources is
not possible!!! The installer jumps over the process to add sources and asks
again for software packages (desktop, server, and so on...)

4) the detection of grafik and display, mouse and so on does not work - for
the display resolution is not made properly. And the user has to add too
many informations, that may not be easy to give.

5) I would have expected a functioning gnome after installation - that did
not work as well.

Sincerely,

LX
