Comments/Problems:

No framebuffer seems to be used by installer: fonts looked rough.
Non-ascii characters were not shown. (BTW: the 2004-09-29 installer had
good UTF-8 on console.)

The installer complained: Unable to load some modules: usb-storage,
floppy, ide-mod, ide-probe-mod, ide-detect, ide-generic, ide-floppy.

I've tried to install using an .iso image on the local disk (as
documented for i286 installs.) However, the installer insists on
finding a CD; it did not check for a file named *.iso on the local disk.

I had no /dev/hda .

However, I can manually do

 mount /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 /tmp

but when I try

 mount -t iso9660 -o loop \
  /tmp/boot/sarge-sparc-businesscard.iso-installer-20041013 /cdrom

I get

mount: Could not find a spare loop device

.

Perhaps there's a reason this installation method is not documented
for sparc hardware...

BTW: I can manually assing a static IP to eth0 (installer didn't
configure eth0).

Thanks, Bye,

Joost
