Debian installer and Dell Dimension 8400

Having some trouble with the lastest build (20041004/sarge-i386-netinst.iso)
I asked for help in #debian-boot on irc. The developers there told me
to send mail with debuginfo to this mailinglist so here we go :
The problem is as following. First the debian installer wouldn't
recongnize the sata controller that computer is born with i searched
the web and solved it by switching to the console and manually
modprobe ata_piix module this controller needs. After that everything
about the partitioning went fine. The controller and disk is seen as a
scsi device. I install base system and write to the master boot sector
with grub. The computer boots but it halts around this line ->

Now im wondering if it has anything to do with the Radeon 300SE card
in the box or if its related to the satacontroller ive attached the
output of lspci and lspci -n
