See po2debconf(1), where it talks about po/output. d-i uses utf-8 exclusively, so echo '2 utf8' > echo/po/output (and add to svn) This will be harder for eject-udeb, since it builds both a deb and a udeb, and he may not want to go all utf-8 for the deb's templates. -- see shy jo
